Mario and Luigi are Italian immigrants who went to Japan, realized that they didn't know any Japanese and Nintendo didn't become a video game company yet so there wasn't much for them. So they went back to Italy, and then moved to America to become plumbers and pursue that "American Dream". And then they got drafted into World War Two. Why? Because I said so, let's fucking do this.
