Shadow Self

Baelfire stared at the sky numbly. For all of his words, some part of him had believed that his papa wouldn't let go. Wouldn't abandon him, wouldn't let go of him, would make it up to him. He could remember his father's words after Milah had died. He'd asked if he would leave him too. His papa had promised that he would never. Something in him cracked open at the memories and soon he was sobbing into the ground, staring at the sky with tears in his eyes. Soon, he'd get up, try to make the best of the situation, soon he'd try to be patient, knowing his father would come, soon he'd get up, wipe his tears and try to survive, but that was later, right now, he sobbed for his papa, cried for his father.
