The twelfth novel in The Shadow Wars.

Eric Starck is a man adrift. After fighting in the Systems Wars that ravaged the galaxy, he's spent the past three years drifting from one job to the next, never quite feeling comfortable. The latest in a long line of jobs is at least seeming like it might be a career he can attach to. Search & Rescue. His job is to fly through the deeper regions of space and offer assistance to any and all who need it.

Everything is about to get thrown out the airlock, however, as he and his crew pick up a seemingly simple distress call from an isolated, asteroid-based service and repair station. The deep space equivalent of a lone truck stop. As they arrive, they find the facility in terrible shape, the inhabitants brutalized, and quickly become trapped in a truly isolated situation with a group of vicious, blood-thirsty alien creatures that seem to want nothing more than to brutally murder them all...All Rights Reserved

She awakens to find the facility vacant, her spine and head hurting, with no idea of what happened. She must unwrap the mystery of what went wrong, all while being hunted by a mysterious entity...

They dock their ship inside, and they meet the crew, who have received a distress signal from a nearby planet. After going down into the planet to check it out, they brought something back with them on the ship. A dangerous and deadly alien. They need to work together in order to beat it. And they'd better not call for help, because, in space, no one can hear you scream. Rated M for gore, blood, violence, and minor language, but no cuss or curse words. I do not own any of these.

They have many facilities that house everything I'm from the simplest and harmless organisms to the most feral and bloodthirsty ones. Each facility is designed to keep the creatures and artifacts contained to keep the public safe, while also researching their mysteries and unlocking any secrets that the anomalies may hold. (STORY IS UNEDITED IM AWARE OF GRAMMER AND SPELLING MISTAKES) 😅 Ava is a young researcher living within bunker 34. A yellow class facility with a mildly dangerous organism known as Subject-59. When strange occurrences keep happening all around her and Ava is plagued by strange dreams, voices in her head and even hallucinations, she comes to the conclusion that subject-59 may not be as 'contained' as they think.
