Clara White is a seventeen year old girl who has been paralyzed from the waist down since she was 10 years old. She lives as an outcast in her dysfunctional step family, and has no friends. But her life changes the day she meets Jack O'Neil, a man who actually cares about her and is willing to go to the ends of the earth for her. The only problem is, Clara feels as if she is limiting his life at her expense. When Clara refuses to listen to her step parents to stop seeing Jack because they want him for one of their daughters, they throw her out of the house. With no where to go, she turns to a friend who lives in Laguna Beach, California, as a way to end the torment of a love that could never work out. Jack is devastated, and begins his endless search for Clara. When he finally finds her, it is agreed that he will stay with Clara for a few days but then he has to leave. During this time, however, a man approaches Clara claiming to be her deseased father's lawyer. He has her father's will and in it is left 2.3 million dollars all for Clara. With this, she puts gets her own life together, but still, no doctor will perform the surgery that will change her life. Meanwhile, a bittersweet relationship is formed between Jack and Clara. Jack will never give up, and Clara is always pushing him away. Will Clara ever discover the love Jack has for her? And will the day ever come that she may walk again?
