He wanted to reach out to Dazai and hold him, but he knew it was not his place. After all they had nothing but a doctor-patient relationship. So, Chuuya had to keep his feelings to himself and continue to be a professional. However, Dazai also sensed that something had changed in their relationship. Chuuya is woken up in the middle of the night, with an invitation to witness Dazai's death, by an old friend of Odasaku who thinks Dazai is the reason why Oda died. He also thinks Chuuya is Dazai's best friend who would shed buckets of tears for the rest of eternity, after his death. He couldn't have been more delusional. After Dostoyevesky's death having Dazai nearly witnessing the death of all of his friends, he finally has an actual change in heart. Despite that, he's plagued with horrid nightmares of everyone dying and all because of him. As always he can't seem to get away from Chuuya either with him being the focal point of every nightmare and it did have an impact on him. Dazai realises he in fact holds strong feelings for the short ginger man. Naturally, of course when one side of double black changes so does the other. All this while trying to deal with 7 missing people and 6 missing families is a lot to juggle. However, with time Chuuya changes, but Dazai doesn't understand what happened to his old partner.
