Ryder was always shunned by his own kind, leading him into depression which also lead to his relentless feeding. The Vampire council is not happy. They believed that they could co-exist peacefully with Humans. This is his last chance to redeem himself or he'll be staked through the heart- literally. And then one night, he goes out to feed and follows the scent of an unlucky human girl who's blood leads him into addiction. After him feeding off of her many times, they come to a deal. This deal is not a deal that anyone with a right mind would make, but she has no choice. Her father is dying and he has the cure.
