Ajae are not domestic creatures. They were meant to remain free, but the Kiavians decided otherwise. They began taking Ajae as pets a little over a hundred years ago, now few were left as free beings. Arala and her clutch were some of the last ones left, but even they couldn't escape the Kiavians. They broke into the Ajae village and tore Arala from her home, family, only life she's ever known, so she can be a pet to a Kiavian prince. Well, she is the Ajae equivalent of a princess, and she will not be conquered by an overindulged, swaggering fool who thinks only for his own amusement. She will resist and escape, somehow, and wait for the day the prophecy comes true and destroys every single Kiavian.

Tales Of Wonder are short stories that are tied in to a novel I've had in my head for years. They are related to the novel and each other. These stories are mainly to motivate me and to test out different writing styles. Each short story will be written in different styles. They take place in a world where magic and science combine. The first story here, I admit leaves the rules of the world and how everything works a little vague but each short story will add more and eventually the novel will tie up the magic system. Softly she apologized, saying words she wanted so badly to say before sealing their goodbye with a kiss. After one last smile, she disappeared into the fire below, her body dissipating into the molten flames as her words echoed into the soundless wind. "Mind telling me about that promise again?"
