Summery of the end of the last chapter in the first book:

Scott's expression contorted to worry as he realized what the blonde had been through in such a short period of time. His frown slowly changed to a smile. "I'm glad you're safe now."

Jimmy smiled as well, realizing just how much the elf cared about him.

Somewhere behind the trees a figure hid in the shadows, seething as the two exchanged worried, yet relieved glances. They had escaped this time, but next time they wouldn't be so lucky.
