Middlemarch, a nineteenth-century Victorian novel authored by Mary Ann Evans under the pseudonym of George Eliot, tells of the wonderfully dramatic and intertwined lives of several well-crafted characters. "How a Wife Should Be" provides an interpretation into how two of these characters--Tertius and Rosamond--have lived their lives together well after the events in Middlemarch. In an effort to mix the writing styles of both Eliot and Gabriels, this telling epilogue-of-sorts sticks to the facts and some direct quotes from the original story while perhaps offering a bit of a twist. Fans of the novel will surely love this new perspective and notice even the smallest of details leading back to the very beginning.
