Most young girls parents warn them to never play with fire. Such a task wasn't feasible for young Kiana, a bright young girl full of love and optimism. Her warm soul and passion was unmatched by any other individual. Her earliest memories show her back as a small child playing out in the snow, her bright red cheeks and pinkish lips turned blue from the cold only to be called inside by her mother. A woman with hands so unnaturally warm they could scare away frostbite within seconds. Kiana shared this gift of heat...on a much greater intensity, never seen before. Any overwhelming emotion meant disaster for Kiana, who cannot control the heat inside her. Excitement would draw forth literal sparks of fire, wrecking chaos around her. Because of her uncontrollable nature as a child, her father left. Leaving Kiana and her Mother alone. Amelia, Kiana's closest friend, is the only other person in the world asides from her Mother who knows about her abilities. The two girls have been inseparable since the 7th grade. Kiana has relied on Amelia for years as a source of comfort and for help concealing her ability. However, no good thing lasts forever. It is now the summer before their first year of college and the girls must go their separate ways, leaving Kiana with no support system or way of concealing her ability in the disaster of a place called college. Yearning for companionship, Kiana struggles as she hyper-fixates on her romantic interests yet cannot bring herself to pursue a relationship. The lack of a father figure growing up and her dependence on Amelia has made it considerably difficult for Kiana to interact with men, let alone pursue a relationship with one. However all of that changes when she meets a certain guy who changes her perspective on what it means to be in a relationship and inadvertently teaches her how to balance her emotions. All Rights Reserved
