Ever since the Inquisition took their mother, Kirsha and her younger sister Damitri have been on the run. However, after months of being careful and watching their steps, Kirsha wakes up to find that the one person left in her life has been taken. Intent on getting Damitri back from the Inquistors, Kirsha will have to go to unspeakable lengths. That includes accepting help from a highly unlikely ally. A kelpie. And better yet, one that has already made an attempt on her life. What lays in store is the fragile struggle to survive a world filled with ancient magic, political intrigues...and secrets.

Authors note// I'm treating this like a draft so expect for there to be a lot of rewriting a long the way. Mostly tweaking sentences and paragraphs to flow better and be more cohesive, but entire scenes might be affected as the story keeps growing. Also big thanks to @Vexful for helping me out with the blurp!

The Empty Ones (Fantasy Romance) by Jinx-01
81 parts Ongoing Mature
In the realm of Quomared, which occupies the biggest part of the continent, magic is a scarce and precious resource. Fewer and fewer humans are born magic bearers throughout the last decades. Zaretha is the only daughter of the Alsayid, religios leader and grand mage of the country, the most powerful still-living sorcerer on the continent in service of the emperor. She is, however, born empty, magicless, to everyone's disappointment. An attempt at a coup d'etate takes place after her twelfth birthday, and her father is assassinated under mysterious circumstances. An orphan now, she is brought to live in The Priory of the White Stones, a home for girls from families that have or had magic-bearing members. They are schooled to be concubines or wives that a noble family can acquire for their heir, because even if magic-less, they still carry the gene and have a fifty percent chance to bear a magic-yielding child. __________________ Mentions: Please don't copy and all that. It makes no sense; just write your own story :). My stories are for mature audience. There will be violence, gore, explicit sex and other stuff not meant for kids. Proceed at your own risk. I will point out the more intense ones but questionable stuff might be all over so if you are sensitive DO NOT read. English is not my first language, feel free to point out the spelling errors, I always appreciate that. I am generally always really happy about Feedback. :) To set expectations correctly, this is my most high fantasy leaning, lore heavy book. It will take time till you get to the romance. Once you get there, there will be stuff 😏 but till then only crumbs. 😂

As her journey unfolds, secrets are unearthed. It quickly becomes a delicate balance of life and death, and she must adapt. Her life isn't the only one she's responsible for anymore. Kiran spent his life in court aiding humans, so it comes too easily to assist the human who indebted herself to him. Except, she isn't who she claims, and loyalties get tested as the stakes get higher. *Note: This is a mature, dark fantasy, with depictions of violence. The faeries within these words aren't sweet.
