George is an assassin at the peak of his career, temperamental, lonely and adrenaline seeking. Lured by danger and challenge, he accepts an insanely dangerous contract from a one-eyed man. Throwing himself headlong into a vast game of complexity beyond his grasp, he is supposed to make his way to checkmate and escape from the board.
But tying his life to that of the king he is supposed to kill bends his allegiance. Shades of grey stream across the stage, pieces change hands, and he must now find his own place on the board if he wants to make it.
