Being the King's girlfriend is a demanding role, and when you're as terrible at keeping a lid on your emotions as Ruby is, it becomes nearly impossible to retain a positive image in the public eye. Add to that the fact that her chaos magic is running wild, reacting to her every whim, and you have a Ruby Hearts that's barely capable of keeping it together.

Unfortunately, keeping her magic hidden, especially from her loved ones, is becoming increasingly difficult, and Ruby is barely holding on. It only takes one incident for her public image to shatter, pushing her over the edge. To escape the backlash and save Ben's reputation from going down with hers, Ruby takes herself out of the picture and back to the Isle.

But by breaking Ben's heart, she broke her own with it, so Ruby does what she's notorious for: she runs from her feelings. But when an ex resurfaces to complicate the situation, Ruby is forced to finally face her emotions and confront her own insecurities. All whilst saving Auradon from being ruled by pirates, of course.

As the Queen of Hearts' daughter, Ruby has always known one thing to be absolutely true: breaking hearts is easy. She's about to learn a harsh lesson that, whilst breaking them is easy, fixing a broken heart is much harder. Will she be able to mend a broken heart?
