Is this what death feels like?

A calmness washed over me. I heard the distant hum of anxious voices slowly fading away. The lights on the ceiling all swirled together as I slipped further and further into whatever this new sweet bliss was. What had happened? My mind was beginning to feel fuzzy.

"Please help her! Saylor, I'm right here."

The name flashed through my subconscious as I heard what sounded like a familiar voice. A hand reached out to grab my arm. I couldn't will myself to find the source of the speaker.

"Sir, you need to step back."
