Maeve Hargrove was dragged by her dad, along with her brother, to live in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana. During the first few months of living in Hawkins she got thrown into otherworldly adventures with a bunch of middle schoolers along with her stepsister Max. After the devastating death of her brother, Billy, her father abandoned her to go back to California. He left her to live with her step mom and step sister. Although she wasn't really complaining because she had grown attached to the "cursed" town of Hawkins and the "freaks" who lived there.
