As a 14 year old, Hawaiian, brown haired and chubby girl, Malia starts settling into her new school after months of bullying at her old school, she finds herself becoming very distant from most people. finding it especially hard to make new friends and to communicate with people, but then comes along a boy in the year above her, short brown hair, tall and skinny, olive skin with freckles and a janked looking pair of sunnys he always has with him, manages to start talking to Malia, the two of them slowly getting closer and closer. 

in this book you will see how the bullying at her last school effected Malia and goes quiet in depth about it. you will also see how the browned haired boy, Joel and Malia's relationship grows throughout the book. 

throughout this book there will be some stuff that may be triggering for some people so i will be putting trigger warnings at the start of chapters that involve sensitive topics that may trigger some readers aswell and below here: 
-self harm
-suicide
-social anxiety
-depression
-eating disorder
-sexual assult
-rape

there will also be some quiet intimate scenes that involve sexual activity.
