I took a small step closer to him with all of the courage I had. I couldn't see him, but I could feel him. I felt his muscles lightly press against my skin, his respiration making me want to faint into his arms.

"So, why are you here?" I asked. "You wanted to say goodbye before my journey here ends?"

"No," he said, stepping so close to me, our bodies touched. "I wanted to give us a new beginning."

He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulled me close, and looked me in my eyes. A look of protection. A look of safety. His hands grabbed my waist and pulled me even closer. Even if I tried, his commanding arms wouldn't let me move. I felt him lowering his head past my lips, to my neck.

"May I?" he said in a breathless tone."
