'Where the hell am I?' Bailey thought to herself while walking through a thick forest. She could hear leaves being crunched under footsteps behind her. Rolling her eyes she kept moving forward. Whatever it was would make a mistake if it were to follow her. 'Don't draw attention to yourself! Whatever it is you can handle it.' She said to herself as the footsteps quickened. Bailey stopped and took a deep breath, she could make out two separate pairs and of footsteps. "Miss." A strong male voice rang in the night. "It is not safe here for you at night. Let me or my comrade escort you back to the village where you can rest and continue your journey in the morning." Bailey turned towards the voice. Two men were standing several feet away with their hands on hilts of their weapons. They wore similar outfits but one had a white haori with flames and the bottom that matched his hair. The other had a white haori that wasn't as long and his was white which matched his hair as well. Bailey lifted one brow at the men. "I am capable of taking care of myself." She said as she started to turn around to continue walking. "Miss. We insist!" The man with the bright flame like hair said with a smile. Bailey scoffed and started to walk away until she heard someone approaching at a high speed.

The reason was obvious enough. You were a demon. Which now made the biggest hassle you had to deal with, staying alive until that point. You have met quite a few demon slayers during your stay at the butterfly mansion, and though not many had been very pleasant. There were others you encounters with a few individuals who were... The river behind Mount Fujikasane ran black at night. You and Giyu sat on the stones after Final Selection, bandages crisp, lungs raw from six days of not dying. The wisteria swayed above like small, purple constellations. Your hands cupped a battered paper lantern you'd found in a shed, its flame trembling. "Why keep it?" Giyu asked, voice low enough to be mistaken for wind. "Because it's small," you said, lighting the wick with a sliver of your palm's glow. "And still refuses the dark." He watched the light steady and did not look away. Back then, you did not understand why the quiet around him made you brave. "We made it," you whispered. He tipped the lantern so the river took your reflection and tore it to lace. "We did." You went down the mountain with a friend you would later lose, with a boy who would become a man made of water and silence, and with the soft, sudden understanding that your power wasn't only blinding, it could be gentle enough to cradle a flame.

Tomoe loved her younger siblings fiercely - not with quiet protection, but with laughter, stories, and warm embraces. When demons started appearing near their village, she felt helpless, terrified of losing them. So she ran - not out of fear, but to become strong enough to protect them. She trained with a reclusive swordswoman known for her frost techniques, adapting Breath of Water and Breath of Wind into her own style. During this time, she kept in touch with Tsutako and Giyu through letters, always careful not to reveal her location. Years later, hearing that Tsutako was getting married, she returned home, heart bursting with joy - only to find the house cold, the wedding dress untouched, and her sister's body covered by a white cloth. "The demon came the night before... Giyu ran. We haven't seen him since." With a crushed spirit, Tomoe searched endlessly for Giyu but found no trace.
