See you Sooner, Earth

A story of someone who misses home but only it's light years away...

Feliz and her brother were born on the red planet made possible by Project Mars from 94 Earth years ago. Their mindset, culture and behavior are of Martians. But Feliz's heart wasn't. She longed for the Earth. The farther it was, the bigger the space it took in her heart.

One night, in a celebration, all the red lights were flashed in their community of 219 people with an alarming sound. That was where she knew that something was wrong because on Mars they only use colors blue, white and grey, and red ones are only for emergencies, their authority said.

"See you sooner, Earth," her lines escaping from the terrorists, ironically, the real inhabitants of Mars.
