I laughed and waved my arms above my head as a the boat slowly headed towards us. I set the gas down and turned around to the other survivors. Nick looked relieved, Coach laughed as Rochelle gave a small little 'whoop' of happiness. We were finally safe! I watched as Ellis leaned on his AR and gave a large grin. I quickly rushed forward and hugged my best friend. Ellis wrapped his arms around my waist and swung me around happily.
"We did it!" He said.
"We did!" I smiled then kissed his cheek. Instantly he froze and I pulled back and stared at him. "Oh!" I let go and looked at the water where the boat was pulling in. "Sorry!" I said, ears turning red.
"It's um. Heh, all good." Ellis rubbed the back of his neck. I glanced at him and saw he had a small smile with his hand touching the spot my lips met.
It seems so long ago when I met them...
