When tensions flare into an-all out rebellion, Sapphira's hometown is turned into a city-wide warzone. The Magistrate are ruthless in restoring order within the blood-soaked walls, catching civilians in the crossfire. Hope is scarce. What more is there to do but flee with what survivors remain? This is a spinoff backstory for a D&D campaign based in the world from "Paladins: Champions of the Realm." Plenty of intellectual rights shenanigans here that I'm not smart enough to address, but it's all in fun. When writing I kept the theme from D&D world of "letting the characters choose wrong/useless paths to explore" as an unnecessary rule imposed on myself, which took more effort than I expected due to sidetracks, but I still enjoy the story that resulted. I wrote this rough draft with the *intention* to go back and polish it someday... Buuuut eh, I probably never will. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I am republishing this for a friend who wanted to read a sample of my work. The plot is all over the place, but I know I'll revisit it in future. I initially wrote this in 2017 before I knew a lot of things I know now. There's a lot in here that is culturally insensitive. I have done my best to edit out what I could find at first glance, but if you see something glaringly offensive please make a comment about it so that I can correct my errors. The most egregious example that comes to mind is using the G-word for the Romani and relying on unflattering stereotypes. I plan to correct a lot of this in proceeding drafts. Books I - VI of "A New Hope" series, complete. Book I - A New Hope *complete* Robb Stark is the heir to Winterfell, and at seventeen years old, his father believes he is ready for a wife. As she sails up the Narrow Sea to her future, will she be able to let go her preconceptions of a life as a high lady? Or will she realize life as a high lady isn't all that bad up in the North where even the women are expected to be strong? Book II - A Bright Star *complete* Daenerys Targaryen is the last surviving daughter of King Aerys II Targaryen who was murdered and usurped by King Robert Baratheon. Dany has been sold to Khal Drogo to be his wife. And in return, Viserys expects the Khal to take the Iron Throne back for him. Book III - A Mission of Hope *complete* Arya and Jaime have been staying in Casterly Rock, due to the hatred that Queen Cersei has for Arya, but, when the King's Hand, Jon Arryn, died, King Robert requested that they travel North, to Arya's home of Winterfell to see her brother and Robert's oldest friend, to ask if Eddard Stark would take the position as Robert's Hand. Book IV - A Following *complete* Jon Snow is a bastard, the bastard of the noblest man alive, but still a bastard. And Tauriel is the only child of the King Beyond the Wall, as well as his sworn protector. Book V - A Bird Without Wings *complete* Bran Stark is the true born son of Eddard Stark, and Elsie is a daughter of a whore and a horse master, but they are best friends, and she will be there with him through anything. Including the loss of his legs, and his family. Book VI - A Blind Love *complete* Mariya Hill is a whore, who was blinded by her mother in a fit of jealousy. Tyrion Lannister is her savior.

What will happen when she joins the Night's Watch on the expedition beyond the Wall and meets a few wildlings? Will she find what she is looking for or will she die in the frozen heart of the North? ••• I don't own any Game of Thrones characters. I can not remember every detail of the story and will try my best to keep it to the storyline with a few (a lot of) tweaks :) I will make mistakes cause I am only human. There will be mature language and sexual conduct.

The Song of Deirdre Part I by lhogue

Deirdre Morningsong returns to Skyrim seeking vengeance on the Nords who murdered her parents, only to be captured by Imperial soldiers who mistake her for a Stormcloak rebel. After escaping both the Imperial dungeons and the destructive return of the dragon Alduin, she resolves to discover what strange power is within her, and what the dragons have to do with it. Follows the main quest lines of the game, weaving them into a story of adventure and romance, with numerous twists on the canon. I'm hoping it's equally enjoyable for those who've played the game and those who haven't. Trigger warnings: rape is mentioned, one is attempted and prevented, but none are completed. Some other sexual assault. The first chapters are PG-13, but later ones become R-rated. (Feedback on appropriate ratings appreciated.) Skyrim is part of the Elder Scrolls series of games, copyright by Bethesda Softworks. The image for the book cover is from the game. I've only posted Part I here, but will soon post the rest (four parts total, 62 chapters). I've worked in nonfiction up to now because it's easier for me to describe places and events I can experience first-hand. I'm hoping that writing this fanfic will be a bridge to doing more of my own fiction.
