Hans Sturmann was once a boy with an Admiration for the soldiers of the Imperial German Army, his father fought in the Franco-Prussian War and was awarded the Iron Cross for his actions, he would teach his son everything he knew about being a warrior and a man. When the Great War broke out in 1914 Hans was still 17 but he didn't care, he believed it was his duty as a German to take up arms and fight for his country, so he did.
This story will follow his journey throughout the war and his experiences in it, enjoy!

He and his fellow soldier Jacob must help each other survive the cruel trenches, but it is no longer certain that either of them will return to England alive. Told in journal entries and letters from Henry's sister Elizabeth, this reveals the realities and horrors of World War I, on the battlefield and in the homefront.
