Adeline (pronounced Adelyn) Violet Blythe's life could not be any messier. All she wanted was to become the next in line for her father's business and now, she is faced with all sorts of distresses: When a recurring dream of her mother's inevitable death grants her a never-before seen clue, she gains the motivation to investigate her death and whomever may be behind it. Meanwhile, her father passes on the responsibility of The Blythe Family Winery to the wrong person. The winery, being destined only to be passed down to the men of the family, must now face change in the hands of the man Adeline despises and his mother's corrupt notions as fading grief passes her father, but submerges him in what his age labels as a consequence for long living at the same time. But when Adeline meets an admittedly obnoxious and charming Baron's son who is in town for marriage, life grabs investigating her mother's death and earning what was born for her and brings them to newer, more extreme levels. Though this aristocratic figure seems to allure her in ways never imagined by Adeline, she forces herself to grab all her senses and fall into focus, lest she falls in love. With an unmistakable clue that moves her to action, a turn of events down the unfortunate side, and a certain "minor setback" dressed in manly garments, Adeline ventures into the unknown as she never has before. Will she be able to avenge her mother, gain her rightful seat as heiress, and mask her true feelings for a bothersome nobleman ALL AT THE SAME TIME? Well, find out how fate treats our Sweet Adeline. (NOTE: there are a very few but, for me, quite bothersome typos in this book and it would do you and me well if we ignore them for the time being. Thank you and happy reading!) [COMPLETED] As I was beginning to relax, a new terror coursed through my body at his next word, "Strip." "Ex-excuse me?" I blurted out. I wasn't getting undressed in front of him, I barely knew him. He must have been trying to gain something from me and I doubted my fear and embarrassment was what he wanted. Adrenous didn't say anything as he drew his hands up my back and halted at the laces of my dress. I felt him tug at one of the nots and I instantly pulled away and turned to face him, no longer caring that his manhood was out for all to see. Just like that part of him, he too was a dick. "I'm not getting undressed in front of you!" I yelled at him. "Your mine, Alivia," My name passed his lips easily and hearing him say it did things to me which I didn't want to admit. Instead I glared at him, he said I was his as if I was some kind of possession that he could do with as he pleased. He added, "Let me take care of you." I didn't know what he meant by that, all I knew was that I had no intention of doing as he had asked. ✨🌕✨ BOOK ONE OF THE KING SERIES ⚠️ WARNING: this book is mature and should only be read if you are 18+.
