When Elias Treasure is pricked by an odd vine he gains supernatural powers. He cannot let anyone know, even his mom but when he lets it slip one time a government agency takes him away and brings him to an Academy for his kind. Masked as a private school for rich kids Norwind Academy takes Elias in and trains him to control his power so he doesn't become a national threat. But when his friend turns over to the dark side he gets dragged into a war.
