Our story starts in 1967. 

Celeste Simons drops out of college and reunites with her childhood best friends after her mother's death. She spends time with her childhood best friends- 
Valkyrie, her first love. 
Bucky, her first heartthrob. 
Steve, her rock. 
And Wanda, her soul sister. 
She has the love and support of her mother's life partner, Dr. Bruce Banner- who all of kids look up to. 

Going home to Syracuse reminded her of all the growing up she still needed to do- how could she make a career out of her political activism? 

Together, the kids embark on a road trip of self-discovery, from New York City to sunny San Francisco. They're visiting Wanda's brother Pietro and his boyfriend, Clint, who recently moved into a large Victorian house in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood. The center of the Free Love Movement. 

Celeste will explore with a newfound sense of confidence as she mourns the death of her mother- and also, the death of the world as she knew it.
