Lonely Gift

Parisa is in her last year of high school, six months before high school is over and she is an official adult with college around the corner. Enough stress already right?
But what happens when a young businessman named Omar Hassan comes for her hand in marriage and ends up unraveling all the emotions she had locked from her tragic last year? He lightly chuckled, "It's alright I guess this is goodbye then."
"Yeah." I shyly responded.
"Hopefully not the last."
"If God wills," I responded in a hushed whisper while we stared into one another's eyes. If God wills... What if God does will? It seemed both of us were thinking about the same thing as his grey eyes met my emerald green.
"Well Asalamulukem then." He finally broke the silence.
"Yeh Walaikumsalam, have a good night."
"You too, bye," he said once more while turning away and walking off to his car.
"Bye," I whispered under my breath. The smaller his car got, out of my sight, the larger the weird feeling in the pit of my stomach grew.
