It's only been a short time since Lacey Williams grandfather died, leaving her his ramshackle home in a remote rural area. The last thing she expected to find was an injured fugitive hiding in the garage. His soft spoken manner conflicts with everything she ever heard about the Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes. In a moment of compassion she takes him in and finds herself falling for the handsome blue-eyed former assassin. Knowing they have no future with each other they do spend one night together, a decision that will come with consequences after Bucky leaves for Europe.
As Lacey copes with the unwanted attention of various agencies, Bucky faces his own troubles as he searches for a safe place to regain his memories.
Set in the time frame after Captain America and Winter Soldier, and extending beyond Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the story chronicles the trials and tribulations of a couple linked irrevocably by their one night together.
