Annabeth and Percy haven't ever been friends, instead, they have a rivalry based on one misunderstanding in their youth. However, what may be a silly rivalry to them, seems like more to those surrounding them. Thus, leading to problems and even the end of their other relationships. One day, when Percy gets into a severe car crash on his way home from school, further investigation leads them to believe it wasn't an accident, and that maybe their problems weren't so "silly" after all. With plenty to uncover and questions to answer, these rivals have to put their differences aside and work together, for better or for worse.
