After a virus outbreak brings death to millions and the streets become dangerously filled with zombies, walls were built. Chaos ensued and fallen cities grew in numbers. When the cities still standing became severly overpopulated, the government created a twisted law that threw out a number of teens, ages 16-18, into the  dead streets to fend for themselves. 

Leo Stoll lost his best friend 2 years ago, and now it's his turn. 

Now banished from his home, Leo and some new acquaintances are on a dangerous journey to find a safe haven they aren't sure is totally real. 

Running into an old face and some new ones that make Leo's heart go to mush, Leo must adjust to this strange new lifestyle. 

Constant danger lurks nearby and Leo isn't sure he can handle it.
