July 13. A date that everybody recognized. Flashed on the national television news, a school bus going to Batangas for an educational trip lost its control and went straight to a road cliffside. There were twenty-nine students, two teachers, and one driver in total; twenty-four students died, the teachers' bodies were missing, and the driver died on the spot. The five students who survived were either critically injured or placed in a coma.
One of the survivors, Octavianah Ciervo, has been sleeping for three years. She only hears voices from strangers coming in and out of the room, unable to open her eyes and move her muscles. She wanted to die. She desired to be free of the burden that had kept her from living the vibrant life she had before. She wanted to succumb to the darkness and never come back. She wished to join her friends whose lives had been taken away.
All she ever desired was to stop her life support.
It wasn't until a different voice called her, a voice that sounded angelic.
