Mono, like all the other children of his world, is left on his own to survive. This world is corrupted by the Transmission, emitted from a strange tower, towering over the dark sky of the Pale City. No one knows how, why and since when, and no one really wants to understand, preferring to take refuge in the comfort and distractions offered by this very same Transmission. But by ignoring the problems, things have become worse and worse, and now the world is a living nightmare. 

But lately, for some reason he can't understand, Mono has been feeling more and more intrigued by the infamous tower. He has been experiencing increasingly strange dreams, as if something or someone was calling, looking for him. Like so many others, he prefers to hide. Trying to understand only brings suffering and hate.

June, on the other hand, does not want to marry him especially after finding out about its true origins and why the radio tower exists. She also finds out that she is not the only normal being existing but that there are a group of survivors as well trying to stop this chaos. It is up to her now to stop the radio tower and end him once and for all with the help of her new companion while seeking the truth about her parent's past and herself.
