In the vast space surrounded by stars and in the middle of all was an orb floating in the infinite space in his dormant state. This orb has been floating for thousands of years waiting for something to wake him up. Fortunately for him, a team of Guardians randomly ends up in this part of space waking him up.

Since the Soul Stone only needed one sacrifice, the child survived. She was left stranded, orphaned, on Vormir. Years later, the time to fight Thanos has come once again, and she wants her parents back from the stone.
