Emma is 12 jaar. Haar ouders zijn rijk en ze heeft drie verzorgpony's met haar vriendinnen Lynn en Anne. De bazin van de pony's is ook erg aardig. Emma heeft veel problemen thuis. Ze schaamt zich, omdat ze haast niks mag. Zoals logeren. Vriendinnen knoeien, denkt mam. Als ze onder het hooi zitten of bij de pony's vandaan komen, moet ze zich eerst wassen. De witte bank mag niet vies worden. En het zwembad moet ook schoon blijven. Emma kan er niet meer tegen, omdat ze niks mag. Ze zit in de puberteit en soms kan ze heel boos worden. Maar bij de pony's vind ze rust.
Dit verhaal komt niet uit mijn eigen leven.
