The Van Der Linde gang, a group of people who have chosen to reject the rules of society and the power of the government, not wanting to be ruled by anyone and instead living by their own code and laws. After a failed heist in Blackwater, the group, led by Dutch van der Linde, will travel east across America to escape those who pursue them, encountering an old rival, and dangers around every corner. As internal conflict starts to brew, Arthur Morgan and his childhood friend, (Y/N) (L/N) are forced to choose between their ideals and their loyalty to the gang. ... After the Blackwater catastrophe, Arthur feels the heavy weight of responsibility; being one of the gang members looked up to and relied upon to get them out of this mess, he's strained by the notion that they may not be getting out this time. With the West slowly transformed into a civilized hellhole, they are forced to move in all directions despite the place they wanted to return to most. Grimly aware that the age of outlaws may be up, Arthur does what he can under Dutch to get money for their escape, all according to plan... Until a detour. Stuck in a rut of her own, the independent, God-fearing, and wistful Summer Grace Monroe has been searching for her own place in life. After being scorned by lovers and in and out of jobs, she feels amiss her late twenties without a true home. She finds the most peace in her church and helping those in need, especially the local Native population. Her father, Captain Monroe, works within the Army as a voice for those being silenced. After her mother's death, Charlotte finds herself an 11 year old orphan in the quiet town of Strawberry. She is drawn to the dangerous life of stealing to earn enough money to keep herself alive. One day, a tall stranger shows up at her door, introducing himself as Dutch Van der Linde... Her long lost father. She is raised side by side with Arthur Morgan though the two never consider each other siblings but rather enemies, divided by Dutch's favoritism for his un-biological son. As they grow older, Hosea advises Charlotte that it's time to put the rivalry to bed and asks her to look at Arthur from a new angle. She begins having strange dreams about him, spurred by a traumatic event in her life.
