Eva 'n' Evan

Let's start by laying out our equations.

Eva = a wedding parking lot + the constant pinging of texts from her family about meeting Carl for the first time + no Carl. Eva's not a numbers girl, but even she can tell that doesn't add up.
Lucky for her, Evan = a wedding parking lot + massive family expectations and guilt trips over meeting (finally!) his girlfriend + a cloud of exhaust and rejection when said girlfriend peels out of the parking lot.

Eva and Evan have only met once before, and Evan was, well, a jerk. But Eva's Carl-less and option-less, so when a desperate Evan has the trope-tastic idea that they should pose as each other's fake partners for the wedding, Eva of course says...

No! Rational adults don't act that way!

But Eva underestimates her family's effortless ability to needle her until she cracks like an iPhone hitting the cement.

As Eva and Evan's fake wedding date blossoms into a fake relationship, Eva realizes that under Evan's grumpy exterior lies something solid. (His chest. No-his character!) But even when Carl is subtracted from the equation, the fake relationship road is plagued with potholes. By the time Eva and Evan suspect they might have something real, the two have entangled themselves in a web of lies that brings them to a new equation:

Fake relationship + real feelings + what's Carl doing here again? = um, a complicated mess. Is there any way to get that to add up to happily ever after?
