Jacqueline Pierce is a freshman at Watercress High School and is the most envied student around. When her best friend Melody's relationship with Charles Fable ends, all of Jacqueline's perfectly placed dominoes start to fall, and so does she. Charles Fable is the nerd at school and is as awkward as they come. At first Jacqueline not sure what to do with this nerd who broke her best friend's heart. But as Jacqueline tries to repair his friendship with Melody, Jacqueline and Charles start to connect. At the same time, her job is complete and Charles and Melody are spending more time than ever together. Will Jacqueline get the chance to be swept off of her feet or will Melody and Charles get back together?

"Yes but that would have been the smart thing to do," I teased. He turned to face me and smiled that smile that I could never get enough of.
"Why did you want us to be friends again?"
I wasn't quite sure how to answer this. Should I lie and tell him that I just wanted him and Melody to be happy again. Or tell him the truth and say that I didn't ever mean to. I just kinda did it. "I don't know," I mumble.

"I may not remember much, but I do know that I had the best time with you last night." Charlie drops his hand from his mouth and lifts his head to stare into my eyes, pushing his hair back from his face at the same time. "And I know this is awkward now, because I'm pretty sure we were both naked together in bed last night..." I choke on air, trying to dispel the imaginary object from my throat.
