Purgatory - Five Hargreeves

"Wait! Why can't I come with you? Five, I thought we had plan?"

"Because you can't be trusted!" Five snapped, turning back towards the girl that had been trailing behind him. His face twisted with a sense of pain at his sudden actions as he knew the damage was done. There would be no going back for either of them now.

Esme's breath hitched, unable to deny the darkness of betrayal that slowly enclosed around her heart at the words. They had been in this together, and yet at the final moment - he was casting her away. The girl sucked in a breath, trying hard to keep her voice from breaking. "Of course you can trust me-"

"No! No, I can't.. I can't risk it." Five voice grew quieter, with the words falling only to their ears, "I can't risk my family.

"But I thought.."

"Im sorry... you're just... you're just not worth the risk." And with a flash of blue, Five Hargreeves was gone.
