Ages ago, Turivel had visited this world and the scars it left on her never faded. Pains in her chest threatened to destroy her calm composed face.
"You don't have to go, I can do this alone," said a male voice, cutting through her thoughts.
Turivel blinked, bringing herself back to the present. Her steely eyes turned to look at him, her lips curled in a half smile, "Do you really think I am foolish enough to trust you with something this important?"
He crossed his arms. The pair stood suspended in the void of space not far from the planet before them. Against the darkness behind him the man's face had twisted into a disapproving scowl, "I know you call me the Evangelist for a reason. And I know that you will pay me for my trouble," his dark brown hair curled around him in the void, covering half his face and his dark eyes, "And that is enough for me. But most importantly, I know that your head is too clouded by this planet for you to act clearly down there."
Turivel sighed, relenting, "Alright, go. Bring her back. But be careful, be subtle. And remember the importance of who you bring to me."
"I always do," he said over his shoulder.
A blue circle of light appeared around the edges of his shape and he slowly faded from existence. Turivel let her guard down, her shoulders slumped slightly now that she was alone. Wisps of her golden hair fell around her face as she allowed herself a moment to just feel the worry and stress of it all. All of life and death hung in the balance now, and all she could do was pray he made it.
