Shortly after the Upside Down leaks into Hawkins, the group decides to go back down there to collect data while the creatures and Vecna are destroyed. When in the alternate world, Dustin and Steve go back to Eddie's trailer. Dustin goes to see Eddie one last time before burying him. When he makes his way over there, the body is gone, and so is Steve.
