Maybe losing your memory isn't so bad after all? You get to relive events, read your favorite books again, meet people again. You forget who you love, who hurt you, your embarrassments, what kind of pizza you liked, what music you listened to. But most importantly, the event that caused me to lose it.
Well, sadly, when nobody tells me why I'm in a hospital, with cops all around me, I realized that curiosity isn't learned. You're grown with it.
