Emily Henderson and Steve Harrington have always moved in the same circles-crossing paths at parties, in the school hallways, and now, in the aftermath of a nightmare neither of them were prepared for. But no matter how close they get, they never seem to meet at the right time.
Steve is still picking up the pieces of a relationship that's slipping through his fingers, and Emily is tired of waiting for something that might never happen. When Billy Hargrove rolls into town, all sharp grins and reckless confidence, he's more than happy to give her the attention she's been craving. And maybe, just maybe, it's easier to run toward someone new than to keep chasing something that was never hers to begin with.
But Hawkins has a way of pulling people back together-and with dangers lurking beneath the surface once again, Emily and Steve might have to figure out whether their parallel lines are doomed to run side by side forever... or if this time, they're finally meant to cross.
