Shayann is a 17-year-old girl who had a very unpleasant past. She never got to see her mom physically because her mom died in the process of giving birth to her. Her aunt took care of her for the first 12 years of her life and moved to live with her father and elder brother. These two have always accused Shayann of killing her mother since her mom died in the process of giving birth to her.
Ever since then, her dad saw her as a filthy rug and treated her as such. Her dad used to rape her whenever he got angry and he got angry very often. Her brother 'never wanted to touch a filthy rug', so he didn't even touch her. This gets unbearable for Shayann that she wants to leave. Shayann is able to vacate San Francisco with the help of her best friend, Yvonne Kropp. They both flee to Miami where Shayann is determined to start a new life.
Xavier Bronté is the Heart of Miami's biggest player. He's got everything you would want in a guy. Partnered up with his best pal, Luca Cristobol, their aim is to play all Heart of Miami's girls. Xavier's greatest admirer is Camilla Anderson, the school Queen Bitch while Luca's is Vanessa Coker, deputy to Camilla.
