Ms. Holmes is a person who is interested in homicides and attempts to become a detective without revealing her gender to protect her father's welfare and reputation. This leads her to a case that no gentleman, but only a woman, can solve. 

The case takes her to the 1812 "Social Season," when she is presented to the Queen, which draws the eye or eyes of the audience. One of them is undoubtedly the culprit. She'd have to find the culprit and get close to them quickly, and what better way to do it than to attract the nation's eye?
