After moving in to a new state, Ethan tries to steer his life into what it used to be. He starts to works at an office firm, earning a satisfactory salary, plus the working conditions are comfortable. Though not particularly popular, he makes a couple of friends at his job and even develops a crush on a coworker named Amanda. This balance however gets disturbed when Amanda gets attacked by an unknown assailant. Ethan manages to protect her but the assailant promises to strike again. Ethan feels obliged to ensure Amanda's safety, even if it means risking his. But there's more to this act of chivalry than meets the eye.

Meanwhile, Jason is an ex-detective with nothing to live for. After a failed attempt to take his own life, he welcomes an unexpected visitor into his home. An old colleague from the police station he used to be stationed in. His peculiar set of skills and ample experience in the field are needed with a special case. One that is connected to the loss of his family and job. Skeptical at first, Jason decides to help track down the infamous urban myth knows as "The Mindkiller", a serial killer that was never caught. Though Jason does not believe in ghosts, maybe it's time he became more open-minded.

After visiting Zack's sister Madison Lucas gets another case. The case of finding who killed her parents. After arresting Zack, As he begins working on Madison's parents' case he finds that he might have arrested Zack on the wrong offense. He finds that MAdiosn and his boss are lying to him. So Lucas tells the detective he trusts and they form a little investigation team of their own. Lucas soon realizes he needs the help of an old friend and they work together to solve the mystery. But can Lucas and his team keep themselves from giving everything away? Especially when Madison keeps getting on Lucas's nerves?
