The Golden Age- When the Traveler arrived, a time of peace, prosperity, and infinite possibility sprouted from Earth. Mankind had launched hundreds- if not, thousands- of journeys across the system, connecting Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, even Mercury into an increasingly large web of life and technology. Honor-driven. Leaders. Warriors. The Protectors of Humanity. Deeply intertwined in the history of the Last City. What happens when one is reborn and becomes one of the few able to wield the flame of hope as his own, to burn off the shackles of darkness that have been crushing humanity's will and hope to dust, What happens when he experiences so much tragedy, so much pain, that he delves into the shadows? "You're not brave, you've merely forgotten the fear of death...Allow me to reacquaint you." The words wouldn't leave her head... Ghaul's mocking tone, the way he looked down at her like she was nothing but an ant beneath his boot with his eyes narrowed and stance radiating a smug triumph that made the Young Wolf grit her teeth and clench her jaw even days after the fact. His words though wasn't what caused her anger, even if they did send a pang of, something through her body. She ignored that (like she always did) and focused on the matter at hand for now, (for her feelings didn't matter; they never would.) Ghaul had invaded her home, the home of her people and captured the Traveler right from under their noses. He slaughtered her people, killed all who hadn't evacuated and he not once cared for the amount of innocent lives he took. The blood of men, women and children who just wanted to live in peace... He had killed all who stood in his way, and The Guardian hadn't been able to stop him from doing so... She had failed...she was right there before him and had fallen down on her knees, too exhausted to get back up and fight without her Light. (She was Weak...a failure...a coward...) The Titan could still feel the phantom pain coursing through her body in the aftermath of the attack, when she had woken up barely alive without her powers back in the city but now, sitting around her small camp as she finally took a break after days of walking that did nothing but fuel her anger. Arjun has been considered "The Guardian" for quite some time. How does holding such a title affect a person? After coming out of the Red War, Arjun realizes that they've got some discovering to do, and some growing to commit to. Basically a Destiny 2 story (or collection of stories) with some Destiny 1 references. I could've written out the Destiny 1 stuff but honestly I'm too lazy so you get the tidbits. Enjoy! Also the title art is my own :) P.S: This work is now no longer canon and will not be continued as I want to do a rework of Arjun and Gwaine as well, so this is out there for fun more than anything else. Artemis, one of the most powerful Olympians, daughter of Zeus and Lyto, big Apollo's twin sister, Goddess of the Hunt is reborn by that ghost. They both know nothing about their powers, their past or their destiny. Artemis, like all the Guardians, forgets her past. She doesn't hate men and she remembers nothing about her virginity vow.
