After the death of her adoptive father, Audra assumes his duties and begins carrying out assignments as a contract killer. She adjusts to her new role, tapping into the skills she had perfected at a young age, thanks to her father.

Audra soon discovers that the magic that has protected the land of Votara for hundreds of years is slowly dying. Something sinister is coming, a threat that is even greater and far more perilous than the dark beasts her father protected her from. She is thrust into a new reality in which her world revolves around nobility, friendship, and the metaphysical, combined with fiery passion, tension, and newfound allies. It becomes clear that it is Audra's duty to save the innocent, and she learns that she is intricately woven into this role in more ways than one.

"I only have one request if you're going to keep me in suspense all day long." "What's that?" The movement of her lips drew his eyes down. "Let me kiss you again?" That voice, breathy and low, set Taly's heart racing. His lips twitched at the corners-he could hear it. Now that he could use his magic, he knew exactly the kind of effect he was having on her. But he didn't move. He waited. Her choice. She set the pace. Taking a shaky breath, she jerked her head. Yes. *** Magic marked her for suffering. Magic will save her. Magic will lead her home. But when an accidental brush with magic causes her to see things -- ghostly apparitions that give her small glimpses into the future -- it has deadly consequences. The Sanctorum has returned to the island, and if they find her, they'll kill her. And anyone that tries to protect her. This includes her best friend, Skye. He was the boy that saved her. The man she knew she could never have. And when he refuses to let her go, their actions might hold the power to reshape the world. An ancient evil is rising, and in order to protect those that she cares for, Taly will have to sacrifice everything. Including her heart.

COMPLETE (FINALLY!) STANDALONE STORY Magic. Forbidden by law, possessed by witches, and the reason a carpenter's daughter is imprisoned in her own home. When escaping the house for a few hours of freedom goes horribly wrong, Misa Carpenter unwittingly captures the attention of a man she comes to despise. He wants her for the magic she never knew she had. Instead of an arrest that could lead to her execution, he proposes a bargain that would set her free from the prison she called home, a bargain she can't refuse. Having no other choice, Misa is plunged into the dangerous world of witches in search of the most powerful and dangerous of them all. The task is deceptively easy. Find the witch and eliminate her. All Misa wants to do is fulfill her end of the bargain so she could finally be free. But things aren't always so simple. Learning magic to blend in forces Misa to confront her greatest fears, and as she grows to understand the man who flipped her world upside down, she realises she might have quite literally gotten much more than what she bargained for. _______ Rated 16+ for swearing, depictions of psychological and physical abuse (by the villain), and mild sexual content
