Izuku was a healthy 18 year-old who had just finished the life-long accomplishment of high school. That was until he started to get sick. Some days he could get up and function besides the occasional coughing fits. And then others, he felt like he could barely breathe by just sitting up in bed in the morning. His mother had incessantly been trying to get him to go to the doctor. But Izuku refused, stating he was healthy the last time he was in for his normal check-up. But his lookout soon changed when he fainted in the garden one day and had to be taken to the hospital. There, after some extensive tests, he was given his life-altering diagnoses.

Since then, Izuku had refused to really think about love. He didn't see a need for it if he was doomed for an early casket date. That was until he met this wonderful and amazing ash-blonde young man around his age. His name was Katsuki. He was a cancer patient as well. And while Izuku's weak lungs prevented from going very far without his oxygen tank, he could manage a few trips across the hall.
