5 years before team RWBY was formed, there was a bandit tribe, in that tribe was wanted criminal, The Ironclad Knight, he went to several villages and killed half the people indiscriminately, wether it was faunus or human, adult or child, they died at his hands.

Some call him a ruthless killer, a murderer, a madman, others called him a savior because they thought those villages were in danger of starvation, it was never revealed why he did it, but he suddenly disappeared along with the tribe 2 years ago
