After the events of season 4 volume 2 of stranger things that leaves Maxine Mayfield in a coma, her friends are worried for her future (and if she will even have a future). Eleven visits the hospital everyday (along with other members in the party), trying to go into Max's mind and find her best friend. Everyday is the same result: Max is nowehere to be found and absolute darkness takes over her mind. Until one day, right before Eleven is about to give up on connecting with her friend's mind...she makes a connection. Out of a glimmer of hope, Eleven reaches out and connects with a piece of Max's mind...or rather, a memory in Max's mind. Now, the party must figure out how to get their friend back by traveling through Max's memories.
