What could go wrong when taking a road trip, alone, across the USA after a break up? Well, I can answer that for you.

Your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. That's what could happen. The universe is really out to get me, these days.

That is, until a god sent from above rescues me. Well, a cowboy who offers me a room at his place until my car is fixed, but same thing.

Not much changes in 3 weeks, right? Looks like I'm about to find out.

Zara was leaving the man who she considered to be the love of her life, who'd become her first ever home, to pursue her life-long dreams. Heartbroken yet determined, she arrives in U.S.A. to work in her favourite publishing company. Miles away, Zach's life was going perfect, until he's suddenly left behind by the woman he was ready to spend the rest of his life with. Left to pick up the pieces of his broken heart, he's having a hard time moving on. It is when the two broken hearts meet, tangled up in sheets that eventually tangles up their lives. Forced to live with their choices and hoping to make it out of the mess that their lives have been, the last thing the two ever wanted was to fall for each other. When choices needs to be made and priorities be set, they are conflicted. After all, the worst thing that could happen to you is meeting the right person at the wrong time. *** "I never thought that amidst all of the chaos, I would get to meet a man capable of such compassion. A man with a golden heart. A man such charming--", my voice broke, but I knew I had to tell him this, "and loving that sometimes just renders me speechless." Tears fell down my eyes. He smiled. "I never thought I'd meet a woman of such strength, resilience and confidence that you possess. A wonderful woman who makes me realize just how fortunate I am to be a part of her life." The ache in my chest heightened. "But I'm not the woman for you." ___ Ranked 1st in #one-night-stand - 12/12/2020 Ranked 1st in #earlylover - 28/09/21 Ranked 1st in #morals - 27/08/2021 Ranked 3rd in #romancereads2020 - 02/006/2021 Ranked 6th in #strongwoman - 15/04/2021 Ranked 6th in #earlylover - 07/06/2021

Broken fathers stole from me the chance of love, hope, and true happiness. All I knew was being wild to fill the void, Partying when I wanted to, Cursing when I wanted to, and Living for myself and the world. Until I met him, A messenger from God to me, "Are you religious?" I blurt out. Alpha smiles shaking his head, earning a frown from me. Then why does he want to say Grace? "I am a Christian, Emily, not religious." My frown deepens. "Isn't that the same thing?" He shakes his head. "Religious tend to depend on religion but I'm a Christian because I depend on Jesus Christ." I'm puzzled, lost like a fish on the ground. "Who do you depend on Emily?" "Myself, my mother, and my friends?" It sounds unsure even to me when I say it. But that is my life. "You can lose those things you depend on, Emily. You can turn your back on yourself, your mother and friends can do too. Don't you ever think about those mysterious things in this world and who is in control of them?" I smile at Alpha. "Don't you ever think that Jesus Christ could be a made-up story and all you rely on is just a poof story?" "Never," the determination in his eyes spikes me up. What makes a man like this, powerful as he is be determined over another man like this? Soon, I got to know, But, don't you want to know? Copyright 2024 Julie Chance.
